Golf Clubs, Equipment, Shoes and Tips.

Golf is one of those games that can be played for a person’s entire life without truly mastering the game. It appears to be a simple exercise of hitting a small white ball over some grass into a likewise small hole. Appearances are deceiving, golf is actually quite difficult and much different from the miniature version where the ball goes through pipes and obstacles depositing the ball either right into the hole, nearby, or into another obstacle. Other than a golf club and golf ball, the similarities between golf and miniature golf end.
The golf club is one of the most important pieces of golf equipment, golf balls being the only other required item. The club is much more technically designed than the ball, often having various metals, alloys and even composite materials. They are divided into three types, the drivers, irons, and putter. Drivers are the most studied golf club. Rigorous testing has been done making them lighter, faster and more powerful. Some have even undergone wind tunnel testing to make them more aerodynamic and thus faster. A fast powerful drive that is accurate is one of the most desirable traits of all golfers, and many rely on widely different club designs.
The irons are used for shorter distances and have a wide variety of angles. While most golfers only have two or three drivers, they will have seven or more irons. The most angled iron is the sand wedge which drives the ball very high into the air, good when balls are stuck in front of obstacles or in bunkers although they do not hit the ball very far. Irons are the most versatile and widely used clubs in a golfer’s arsenal.
Putting is one of the most difficult aspects to golfing. Even a completely flat and smooth green can prove a difficult putting surface. Intense concentration and accurate strokes are required, but a well balanced putter will definitely help. Putters come in many different designs, some with heads rivaling the size of driver all in an effort to enlarge the sweet spot on the club, the best place to hit the ball.
All those clubs require a golf bag to haul them around the course. Many courses are exceptionally expansive and beautiful, allowing a person to escape from the daily grind and enjoy peace or frustration depending on how their game is going. Good golf bags have plenty of room for all clubs, balls, towels, beverages and golf shoes. They can easily be strapped to the back of a golf cart for lazy days and long courses. Golf carts are almost more fun to drive than to play golf, but always be respectful of the course and never drive on greens.
Most golf courses and country clubs have a golf store or pro shop right by their driving range. It is a great place to pick up equipment, try out new clubs and get some professional golf tips from the course pro or another friendly golfer.
